The defending NCAA champions are coming to the Midwest.
Lewis recently announced that it will have a non-conference home match against Hawai’i during the opening month of the 2027 season.
This will be the third time in the last four years that the Flyers and Rainbow Warriors will play each other. It also will be the first time Hawai’i has traveled to Lewis since 2020 when they beat the Flyers in four games.
Lewis ended last season at No. 14 in the national coaches and upset Lindenwood in the MIVA Tournament quarterfinals.
The Flyers return multiple starters highlighted with First-Team All-MIVA setter Cameron Hoying. Hoying during the offseason won the Best Setter Award and helped the United States win the gold medal at the U23 Pan American Cup.
Hawai’i finished last season winning its third NCAA championship this decade and first national title since 2022. Among the multiple All-American starters slated to return for the Rainbow Warriors includes setter Tread Rosenthal who guided Hawai’i to nation’s fourth-best attack percentage at .367 last season.
Hawai’i leads the all-time series against Lewis 21-2 and is on an eight-match winning streak, including a four-game victory last season at the Outrigger Invitational.
This will be the second home matches for the Flyers against a Big West team in January. Lewis as part of unveiling several of its non-conference matches announced it will play host to UC Santa Barbara.
