A team that nearly earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament last season is coming to the defending GLVC champions.
Missouri S&T as part of unveiling its 2027 schedule announced that it will have a non-conference home match against Lindenwood on Jan. 29.
Missouri S&T in the inaugural season of the GLVC swept Maryville in the conference tournament finals to win the 2026 GLVC championship. The Miners also set a single-season program record with 19 victories, including winning 12 of its final 13 matches of the season.
Multiple All-GLVC starters are slated to return for the Miners, including setter Grant Edmonds. Edmonds finished last season third in the nation with a 10.66 assists per game average and guided Missouri S&T to the nation’s fifth-best attack percentage at .352.
Lindenwood last season had its first 20-win season since transitioning to NCAA Division I-II but suffered an upset loss to Lewis in the MIVA Tournament quarterfinals. The Lions following that postseason loss finished as the first team in the race for the final at-large bid, according to the Off the Block bracketology.
The Lions are 3-0 all-time against the Miners highlighted with a four-game victory last season.
This will be the first of Missouri S&T’s three non-conference matches against the MIVA during the upcoming season.
The team will travel to play Queens as part of a three-match Southeast road trip in February. It also will play McKendree on March 31 in the first meeting between the two programs since the Miners upset the Bearcats last season.
