The season for Erskine will open on the road against a defending conference champion.
Erskine as part of recently releasing its 2027 schedule announced it will play a non-conference match against Fort Valley State on Jan. 15.
Fort Valley State went undefeated in the SIAC last season en route to winning its third consecutive SIAC title and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats under coach Larry Wrather are on a nation-best 34-match conference winning streak dating back to 2024.
Erskine finished last season tied for fifth place in the ConfCarolinas with five of their conference losses going to a decisive fifth game. The team also had non-conference victories against Lincoln Memorial and Catawba.
Among the starters returning for the Fleet includes All-ConfCarolinas middle attacker Tyler Kuehl who finished in the conference’s top 10 with a 0.82 blocks per game average.
This will be the second all-time meeting between the two teams and the first time Erskine will travel to Fort Valley State. The Fleet defeated the Wildcats in four games during the inaugural series meeting in 2023.
