·

The defending ECC champions will be on its home court when facing a historic Midwest program.

Roberts Wesleyan as part of unveiling its 2027 schedule announced it will have a home non-conference match against Purdue Fort Wayne on Jan. 30.

The Redhawks last season set a program record with 20 wins en route to winning their first conference championship in the team’s three-year history. In addition, Roberts Wesleyan ended the season on an eight-match winning streak and defeated the two-time defending ECC champions St. Thomas Aquinas in the conference finals.

Among the starters returning for the Redhawks includes the 2026 ECC Rookie of the Year middle attacker Jordan Hoover. Hoover as a freshman was in the nation’s top 10 with both a 1.40 blocks per game average and a .416 attack percentage, including having four blocks in a non-conference loss to Hawai’i.

Purdue Fort Wayne ended last season with four wins against nationally ranked teams and lost in the conference tournament quarterfinals. Pin-hitter Logan Muir also was in the nation’s top 20 with a 3.67 kills per game average.

This not only will be the first all-time meeting between Purdue Fort Wayne and Roberts Wesleyan.

Roberts Wesleyan entering this season had never played a MIVA team in program history. Along with the match against Purdue Fort Wayne, the team will play the defending MIVA champions Ball State in the opening week of the season at Penn State.
