Two middle attackers are each earning a share of the college men’s volleyball honor
Off the Block announced Monday that Queens middle attacker JP Payne and Limestone middle attacker Jon Igo were selected as the Off the Block Co-Independent Teams Player of the Week.
Igo contributed 14 kills on a .542 attack percentage and had a match-high six blocks as Limestone defeated Queens in five games on Friday.
Payne finished with 13 kills and zero errors on a season-high .765 attack percentage in that loss to Limestone. He also had 10 kills on a .467 attack percentage in a four-game victory against Tusculum on Tuesday.
The eight independent teams this season are Alderson Broaddus, Daemen, D’Youville, Limestone, Lincoln Memorial, Queens, St. Francis Brooklyn and Tusculum.
Off the Block determines the Independent Teams Player of the Week based on a variety of factors, including a player’s individual performance and how a player’s team fared during the week.
