    It’s been absolute chaos this weekend with four of the top 10 nationally ranked teams losing and even more top-ranked teams will be tested tonight.

    No. 13 IPFW will look to extend No. 10 Penn State’s season-opening losing streak as the two teams meet in the Off the Block East vs. Midwest Challenge. In addition, No. 7 BYU with its retooled starting lineup will attempt to complete a series sweep against No. 4 UCLA. (more…)

  • Off the Block releases watch list for 2015 Lloy Ball Award

    Fourteen college men’s volleyball players have been selected to the 2015 watch list for the annual Lloy Ball Award.

    Off the Block on Tuesday unveiled the watch list for the national award that is presented to the best setter in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball during the regular season. (more…)

  • Pepperdine schedules non-conference match vs. Harvard for 2015

    The recent controversial NCAA Tournament at-large bid process has led to a noticeable change to Pepperdine’s future schedule.

    For the first time in three years, Pepperdine will have at least one non-conference match on its schedule as it will play host to Harvard during the 2015 season.

  • Harvard, Concordia among teams to compete in 2015 Morgan Classic

    Concordia-Irvine in the midst of transitioning to NCAA Division II membership will have a chance to defend its title at one of the most prestigious annual college men’s volleyball tournaments.

    The 2015 Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic field will feature the host school Springfield along with Concordia-Irvine, Harvard and Rivier, Springfield coach Charlie Sullivan said in a recent interview with Off the Block.

  • Record number of teams earn national academic honor

    A record five NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball teams earned a national recognition for their success in the classroom.

    The AVCA announced Monday afternoon that Grand Canyon, Harvard, NJIT, Lees-McRae and Lewis all received the volleyball organization’s annual Team Academic Award.

  • Harvard, UCLA pair eliminated in second round of Beach World Championships

    The championship hopes will end short of the medal podium for the U.S. pair of Harvard outside attacker Branden Clemens and UCLA outside attacker Jackson Bantle.

    Clemens and Bantle lost to the Norway’s Christian Sandlie Sorum and Hendrik Nikolai Mol H 21-13, 21-15 in the second round of the FIVB Beach U-21 World Championships on Saturday in Larnaka, Cyprus, to be eliminated from the international tournament.
