  • No men’s volleyball team penalized for low APR score

    For the first time in the four years, a men’s volleyball will not receive NCAA sanctions for a sub-par academic performance.

    No college men’s volleyball scored less than a 920 out of a possible 1,000 to earn penalties in the latest Academic Progress Rate report that the NCAA released Wednesday.

  • INTERACTIVE MAP: 2012 Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 list

    The West Coast had the majority of incoming freshmen recruits on the 2012 Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 list, but several other areas of the nation were also well represented on this list ranking the top high school volleyball recruits.

    Use the Off the Block interactive map below to view where all the Fab 50 selections came from this year. The markers on the map indicate what conference the recruit will play in during the upcoming season — blue for the EIVA, red for the MIVA and yellow for the MPSF.

  • USC leads all schools with 7 incoming recruits on new Fab 50 list

    USC coach Bill Ferguson has once again put together one of the top recruiting classes in the nation.

    USC had a nation-best seven incoming freshmen recruits selected to the Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 list, which was in released in the magazine’s July issue.

  • Men’s volleyball 2012 All-Snubbed Team from All-American honors

    All of the All-American teams are out and as is the case every year there are players who can make the argument they got snubbed.

    The AVCA and Volleyball Magazine each recently released their 2012 NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball All-American teams. All the athletes selected to these teams are well deserving, but with any All-American list there is a group of players who just missed out.

    Check out the top 10 non-All-American players who had a case to earn the national honor this year.

  • Volleyball Magazine reveals 2012 Player of the Year, All-American teams

    USC continued to pick up more individual national accolades — almost sweeping Volleyball Magazine’s top three annual awards.

    Trojans outside attacker Tony Ciarelli was named the 2012 Volleyball Magazine Player of the Year, while setter Micah Christenson won the Freshman of the Year award. In addition, USC coach Bill Ferguson and former UC Irvine coach John Speraw both earned the magazine’s Coach of the Year honors.

  • AVCA releases 2012 high school boys’ volleyball All-American team

    Twenty incoming college freshmen were selected to the boys’ volleyball AVCA High School Senior All-American Team on Thursday.

    Penn State and UCLA led all teams having three recruits who were named high school All-Americans.
