Add another milestone victory to the list for Fort Valley State.

Fort Valley State in its season opener defeated Queens 19-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-17 on Sunday to become the first SIAC program to beat both a MIVA team and NCAA Division I opponent.

Outside attacker Deyan Todorov took full advantage of being inserted into the startline lineup for the season’s opening week.

Todorov did not commit an error and finished with a team-high 12 kills on a .480 attack percentage as No. 12 Lewis swept No. 9 Stanford 30-28, 25-21, 25-22 on Saturday in Stanford, California.

Down five points on the road midway through the decisive fifth game – no problem for Catawba.

Catawba rallied from a 7-2 deficit in the final game as it upset No. 19 George Mason 20-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 15-12 on Saturday for its first win in program history against a nationally ranked team.
