Ohio State setter Daniel Henwood Rodriguez had no issues adjusting to the international stage.
Rodriguez won the tournament’s Best Setter award and helped lead Puerto Rico to a gold medal NORCECA Men’s Final Four during the weekend in Mexico.
Puerto Rico led all teams with a .310 attack percentage as the team won all three matches of the round-robin tournament. Rodriguez guided Puerto Rico to a tournament-best .392 attack percentage in a tournament finale sweep against Mexico to secure the championship.
Along with the offensive performance, Rodriguez had two aces in a five-game victory against the Dominican Republic to open the tournament.
Rodriguez joined Puerto Rico after guiding the Ohio State offense to a .312 attack percentage during the 2026 season and finishing ninth in the nation with a 10.00 assists per game average. The setter also was in the top 10 of the MIVA averaging 0.34 aces per game.
This was the third consecutive year that Puerto Rico has won the NORCECA Final Four.
