A member of the Belize Men’s National Team is coming to Benedict.

Middle attacker Hakan Godoy has committed to join the SIAC school starting in the upcoming season, according to BK Sports Group.

Godoy earned the Best Blocker award at the U21 Central American Championship last year. The middle attacker was third at the tournament with a 0.68 blocks per game average and had a match-high four blocks against Nicaragua in the final game

Godoy also contributed 13 kills throughout the event as Belized finished the international event in sixth place.

Benedict finished last season in third place in the SIAC and advanced to the conference tournament semifinals. The Tigers, though, will enter next season with the Division II National Player of the Year Ras Jeese Delancy, who transferred to Charleston in the offseason.
