After winning five straight matches, and seven of their last eight, No. 10 Lincoln Memorial has rejoined the Division II coaches poll released on Tuesday morning. The Railsplitters are currently tied with Limestone for the top seed in the IVA tournament to be hosted by No. 7 Queens on April 16 and 17, as Daemen will not be able to travel due to state restrictions on travel during the pandemic.

Both Limestone and Lincoln Memorial are at 10-8 in the standings, with three matches remaining to play, while Queens is at 12-10, with two matches remaining. Head to head, Lincoln Memorial and Limestone split their two matches; the Railsplitters won five of the eight games. Of course, there is the caveat that matches can be added or cancelled in the next couple of weeks.

In the MIVA, top ranked Lewis can secure the top overall seed in the MIVA tournament with a win over Loyola. Two Lewis wins over Loyola, coupled with two No. 2 McKendree wins over Ball State, would give the Bearcats the No. 2 seed in the MIVA tournament. The second seed would host a semifinal match if they advanced past the quarterfinal round which they would host as well.

There is a lot of uncertainty with regards to making up matches and the status of scheduled matches this week in ConfCarolinas. What we do know is that No. 5 Mount Olive has already secured at least a bye to the ConfCarolinas tournament quarterfinals. The top two seeds get a bye to the semifinals, while the third and fourth seeds get a bye to the quarterfinals.

Besides Lincoln Memorial rejoining the poll (and King dropping out of the poll), the only other change was Mount Olive swapping spots with No. 6 Charleston.

Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 15 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Tuesday during the regular season.
