What to know: It’s not the MIVAgeddon like it was last year. However, No. 11 Loyola and No. 14 Lewis will renew their rivalry with plenty at stake in the first meeting between the two teams since their dramatic NCAA Tournament finals. The Ramblers in the longest fifth-game overtime in finals history overcame multiple championship-points to beat the Flyers for their second consecutive national title. Both Loyola and Lewis enter this mid-season match one-and-half matches out of first place in the MIVA. A victory would move either team within a match of No. 5/6 Ohio State for second place. This in-state rivalry match also will feature several of the top middle attackers in the nation. All-American middle attacker Bobby Walsh leads the nation with a .522 attack percentage, including having 11 kills while hitting .526 in Lewis’ sweep against IPFW on Friday. Walsh, the 2015 Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. National Blocker fo the Year, is also among the conference leaders with a 1.09 blocks per game average. Preseason All-American middle attacker Nicholas Olson leads Loyola and is second in the nation with a 1.24 blocks per game average. In addition, Loyola middle attacker Jeff Jendryk is among the MIVA leaders with both a 1.12 blocks per game average and a .385 attack percentage.
