Penn State is off to its best start in more than 15 years and is now climbing in the rankings.

The Nittany Lions jumped one spot to No. 3 in the latest Off the Block National Media Poll that was released Tuesday.

Penn State defeated Pepperdine and Stanford during the weekend to extend its winning streak to six matches – its longest season-opening winning streak since 2009.

The National Media Poll is the only rankings in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball solely determined by media members. The 10 teams receiving the most votes are ranked in the National Media Poll, while other schools earning votes but finishing outside of the top 10 are considered teams receiving votes.

A new national media poll is released every Tuesday during the regular season on Off the Block’s website.
