BYU is in fifth place in the MPSF after sweeping a two-match road series against No. 13 CSUN last week to snap its six-match losing streak. The Cougars have a chance to move into the top-four of the MPSF standings and host a postseason match if they sweep the regular season finale series against the Rainbow Warriors. This will also be the first meeting between the two teams at Smith Fieldhouse since the controversial ending to their MPSF Tournament quarterfinals match in 2013. BYU won in five games after a Hawai’i kill that would have a forced a fifth-game overtime was overturned because of a back-row violation.
