    The most chaotic day of the postseason has arrived as five conference tournament quarterfinal matches take place tonight.

    BYU playing host to USC in a match with significant ramifications to the NCAA Tournament seeding and at-large bid races highlights the four MPSF Tournament quarterfinal matches. In addition, IPFW and Ohio State meet in the final MIVA Tournament quarterfinals match.

  • MPSF announces 2014 Player of Year, all-conference teams

    For the fourth time in the conference’s history, a player has won multiple MPSF Player of the Year honors during his college career.

    The MPSF announced Thursday that BYU All-American outside attacker Taylor Sander was selected as the conference’s player of the year for the second consecutive season.

  • Bracketology: Who teams should root for in conference tournaments

    The decision of what teams earn the two at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament could be greatly influenced by conference tournament matches not involving those teams or even their conference.

    Of the all the pieces of criteria used by the NCAA Tournament selection committee the one with greatest fluidity is record against teams already qualified for the NCAA Tournament or under consideration for an at-large bid.

  • Men’s volleyball national media poll ballot breakdown

    Stanford was able to close the gap a little bit more but Loyola will remain at No. 1 entering the postseason in the college men’s volleyball national media poll.

    Loyola received all but one first-place vote to beat-out No. 2 Stanford by 11 points and to finish the regular season atop the latest Volleyball Magazine media poll released Tuesday. (more…)

  • Three finalists announced for inaugural Lloy Ball Award

    A nationwide voting committee selected USC setter Micah Christenson, Stanford setter James Shaw and Pepperdine setter Matt West as finalists for the inaugural Lloy Ball Award.

    The Lloy Ball Award is given to the nation’s best setter in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball during the regular season.
