  • Conference tournament semifinal matches to follow tonight

    The postseason resumes this evening with four teams still in contention for the Conference Carolinas’ first automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

    The No. 1 seed Erskine after winning the conference regular season title will play host to No. 5 Barton in its Conference Carolinas Tournament semifinals match. In addition, the No. 2 seed Pfeiffer and the No. 3 seed Mount Olive will face each other in the other semifinal.

  • Conference Carolinas announces 2014 All-Conference awards

    A player who broke almost every career offensive record at Mount Olive is now ending his college career earning the conference’s top individual honor.

    The Conference Carolinas announced Thursday that Mount Olive outside attacker Angel Dache was selected as the 2014 Conference Carolinas Player of the Year.

  • Conference tournament quarterfinal matches to follow tonight

    The postseason opens with the newest conference in college men’s volleyball taking center stage.

    The Conference Carolinas Tournament kicks off the entire postseason tonight with two quarterfinal matches. Limestone and Barton will face each other with the winner advancing to play the No. 1 seed Erskine in the semifinals, while Mount Olive looks to make another postseason run as it plays host to Lees-McRae.

  • Erskine clinches program’s first Conference Carolinas regular season title

    It was only fitting in a season when Erskine seemingly came out of nowhere to get into first place, the team was nowhere near the court when it won the program’s first regular season championship.

    Erskine on an off-day clinched the Conference Carolinas regular season championship thanks to Barton upsetting second-place Mount Olive on Wednesday in Wilson, N.C.

  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s a light slate of matches but they have plenty of intrigue and importance with only a few weeks remaining in the regular season.

    No. 2 Long Beach State will travel to play No. 7 USC in the marquee match of the night and the only match featuring two top 10 ranked teams. In addition out in the Midwest, No. 10 Lewis will play host to Penn State in their annual non-conference meeting.

  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s all about the rematch tonight in college men’s volleyball.

    No. 2 BYU and No. 4 Pepperdine will play each other for the second in time in four weeks in another showdown between two top-five ranked teams. In addition, No. 3 UCLA and Hawai’i will close out their two-match conference series after the Rainbow Warriors pulled off the upset in the opener.

    There are critical early-season conference matches from coast-to-coast tonight in college men’s volleyball.

    No. 1 Pepperdine and No. 5 BYU will attempt to stay undefeated in the MPSF as they both play top-10 nationally ranked teams. In addition, not to be overlooked on the East Coast is a match-up between Mount Olive and Limestone, two of the preseason favorites to represent the Conference Carolinas in the NCAA Tournament.

  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s a short turnaround tonight in college men’s volleyball for several teams following lengthy conference matches less than 24 hours ago.

    No. 1 Stanford and No. 7 UC Irvine will both attempt to rebound from losing a five-game conference match on Friday to a top-10 nationally ranked team. In addition, out in the Midwest No. 2 Loyola looks to make its case for No. 1 in the national rankings as it plays host to Mount Olive.

  • Mount Olive picked to win Conference Carolinas championship

    Mount Olive will open its season this week as the official preseason favorite to win the Conference Carolinas championship.

    The defending Conference Carolinas regular season champion Trojans received five of eight first-place votes to finish atop the conference’s preseason coaches poll that was released Monday.

  • Season Preview: 5 teams that may surprise everyone in 2014

    There are teams that have high preseason expectations and than there are those teams that enter a season will little fanfare but become the biggest surprises of the year.

    Whether it’s Long Beach State last year overcoming little preseason hype to almost reach the NCAA Tournament or UC Santa Barbara’s postseason run to the 2011 NCAA finals, each season tends to feature teams that surprise everyone.
