  • Voting now open for 2013 Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Players’ Choice National Player of the Year

    College men’s volleyball players can now submit their vote for a new national award recognizing the nation’s best individual performance.

    Off the Block announced Tuesday that it will present the inaugural Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Players’ Choice National Player of the Year. The award will honor the top NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball player from the most recent season and will be solely determined through voting by current college men’s volleyball.

  • Pepperdine hires All-American Winder as assistant coach for 2014 season

    A multiple All-American recipient and school-record holder will return to Pepperdine for the upcoming season.

    Pepperdine announced earlier this week that it hired former four-time All-American setter Jonathan Winder to be its assistant coach for the 2014 season.

  • North Greenville to start men’s volleyball team for 2015 season

    Another men’s volleyball program will join the Conference Carolinas for the 2015 season.

    The North Greenville University athletics department announced earlier this week that it sponsor men’s volleyball beginning in the 2014-15 school year.

  • Volleyball Magazine reveals 2013 Player of the Year, All-American teams

    There is a split decision this year to the National Player of the Year.

    BYU outside attacker Taylor Sander was named the 2013 Volleyball Magazine Player of the Year — one month after the All-American junior lost the AVCA National Player of the Year honor to Long Beach State outside attacker Taylor Crabb. (more…)

  • IPFW’s Rivera wins 2013 Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Fan Choice Player of the Year

    IPFW outside attacker Eddie Rivera received more than 1,000 votes in the championship round to win the 2013 Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Fan Choice Player of the Year.

    The Fan Choice Player of the Year is an annual 65-player bracket-style tournament that recognizes the best individual performances from NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players during the season and gives volleyball fans from around the world the chance to decide the winner through online voting on Off the Block’s website. In addition, almost 20,000 votes were cast throughout the six-round tournament. (more…)

  • AVCA releases 2013 high school boys’ volleyball All-American team

    Coach John Speraw in his first year as the UCLA head coach didn’t waste any time landing one of the nation’s top recruiting classes.

    UCLA led all college teams with four incoming freshmen recruits making the AVCA High School Senior All-American Team that was released Tuesday afternoon.
