Four current college men’s volleyball players, including two All-Americans, have a chance to represent the United States at an upcoming international tournament.
USA Volleyball announced Wednesday that BYU outside attacker Taylor Sander, Pepperdine outside attacker Josh Taylor, UC Irvine libero Michael Brinkley and Long Beach State setter Connor Olbright were among the 18 players included on the U.S. preliminary roster for the Pan American Cup tournament.

One of the nation’s top freshmen setters will join the United States roster for an international tournament.
USA Volleyball announced Thursday afternoon that Stanford setter James Shaw will be added to the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team roster for the upcoming FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship.
Two college men’s volleyball teams have received a national recognition for their academic achievements.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Wednesday that Harvard and Stanford both earned the organization’s annual Team Academic Award.

For the first time in its program history, Princeton will compete in one of the oldest and most prestigious annual non-conference men’s volleyball tournaments.
The Volleyball Hall of Fame informed Off the Block during the weekend that Princeton, UC Santa Cruz, Concordia and the host school Springfield will be the four-team field for the 2014 Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic.

A former UC Santa Barbara outside attacker and head coach at a California junior college volleyball powerhouse will be the next assistant coach at UC Irvine.
The two-time defending NCAA champions UC Irvine announced Wednesday that it hired Armen Zakarian to be an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
