Outside attacker Greg Petty had a career-high 18 kills as No. 9 Lewis swept No. 8 UC Irvine 25-22, 25-22, 25-23 in its season-opener Monday in Irvine, California.
The Flyers in the non-conference victory out-hit the Anteaters .430 to .265, including having .538 a match-high attack percentage in the second game. In addition, Lewis committed nine attack errors the entire match — nine fewer errors than UC Irvine. (more…)

No. 8 UC Irvine and No. 9 Lewis will meet in the season’s first match-up between two top-10 nationally ranked teams. In addition, No. 1 Pepperdine will play North Greenville and do something it’s never done almost a decade — play a road non-conference match. (more…)
