A nationwide voting committee selected 10 players to the annual Off the Block Freshman All-America Team that was unveiled Wednesday.
The Off the Block Freshman All-America Team honors the top NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball freshmen players from the regular season. This is the 13th year Off the Block has presented the national honor, which remains the only Freshman All-American Team presented in college men’s volleyball. (more…)
Off the Block unveiled Sunday the finalists for all 11 of the NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball national awards that it annually presents.
A nationwide voting committee of more than 25 NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball coaches and volleyball media determined the finalists and winners. The top three vote-getters for each award were named finalists, and the individual receiving the most votes will be named the award winner. (more…)

A national champion has been crowned and the season’s final rankings are out.
The Off the Block National Media Poll is the only rankings in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball solely determined by media members. The 10 teams receiving the most votes are ranked in the National Media Poll, while other schools earning votes but finishing outside of the top 10 are considered teams receiving votes. (more…)
Setter Moni Nikolov had a match-high four aces and guided the offense to a .354 attack as the No. 1 seed Long Beach State swept the No. 3 seed UCLA 25-17, 25-23, 25-21 in the NCAA Tournament finals on Monday in Columbus, Ohio. (more…)

There were barely any exuberant facial expressions from Moni Nikolov throughout the championship match.
While his teammates on the bench were running around and waving towels beyond the playing area in celebration of scoring points in the third game, Nikolov remained stoic on the court.
It hasn’t been in the nature of the 19-year-old freshman from Bulgaria all season to show a ton of emotion on the court. Nikolov has simply let his play do all the talking – and his play has said a lot this season. (more…)
