A coach who helped lead a college men’s volleyball program to its first conference title in more than 20 years will join the defending MIVA championship.
Ball State announced recently that it hired Bridget Quisberth to be an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
Quisberth in three seasons as the head coach at Santa Barbara City College was twice named the conference’s coach of the year. The coach last season guided the junior college to its first conference championship in 2005 and its highest single-season win total this century.
Quisberth also was the head coach of the UC Santa Barbara club team and guided the team to the 2018 NCVF Division 3 national championship.
“Bridget brings strong player development skills and great energy that will impact our program in a positive way,” coach Mike Iandolo said in a statement. “She is a great fit, and I am excited to have her and her family join us at Ball State.”
Along with her men’s volleyball experience, Quisberth served as assistant coach with the Santa Barbara City College for three years starting in 2022. The program in her first season won the conference title and finished 23-5 – the fourth-most single-season wins in program history.
Quisberth as a player was a four-year starter at The Catholic University and earned all-conference honors during her senior season.
Ball State last season won its first MIVA championship since 2022 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament semifinals.
