It’s a repeat for UCLA middle attacker Cameron Thorne.
Off the Block announced Friday that a nationwide voting committee for the second consecutive year selected Thorne as the winner of the 2026 Ryan Millar Award.
The Ryan Millar Award, which is named after the former BYU All-American and U.S. Olympian, is presented to the nation’s best middle attacker in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball during the regular season.
Thorne finished the season with a .509 attack percentage and had double-digit kills in six matches. Among Thorne’s top performance included 13 kills and zero errors on an .813 attack percentage in a victory against Long Beach State in February.
Along with the offensive performance, Thorne led UCLA and was in the top 10 of the MPSF with a 0.91 blocks per game average.
The voting committee for the Ryan Millar Award was comprised of college men’s volleyball head coaches and volleyball reporters from around the nation. The top four vote-getters were named finalists for the Ryan Millar Award.
Thorne received 33 votes – more votes than the other three finalists had combined. Penn State middle attacker Owen Rose finished in second place with eight votes, while UC Irvine middle attacker Trevor Clark and Long Beach Jackson Cryst were tied for third place with seven votes.
A UCLA middle attacker has won the Ryan Millar Award the last four years and six times since 2018.
This is the 11th year that Off the Block has presented the Ryan Millar Award.
Off the Block is a national award winning website that launched in 2011 and is the nation’s leader in college men’s volleyball coverage.
