The rematch of the upcoming NCAA Tournament semifinals between UCLA and Hawai’i is already set for next season.
Coach John Hawks said Friday at the semifinals prematch news conference that UCLA has agreed to play at Hawai’i for the Outrigger Invitational during the 2026 season.
This will be the first time the Bruins and Rainbow Warriors have scheduled a regular season match against each other since the 2023 season when UCLA played at the Outrigger Invitational. Hawai’i won that meeting at its annual home non-conference event, but UCLA later that season beat Hawai’i in the NCAA Tournament finals.
Hawai’i and UCLA have combined to win the last four NCAA championships and will play each other in the semifinals on Saturday.
UCLA as the No. 3 seed swept the No. 6 seed Belmont Abbey in the quarterfinals on Thursday and is attempting to become the first time in more than 30 years to win three straight NCAA titles. The No. 2 seed Hawai’i after winning the Big West Tournament championship defeated the No. 7 seed Penn State in its quaterfinal match on Thursday.
