It took a school-record performance for No. 12 Lewis to avoid a massive upset.

Outside attacker Max Roquet set a single-match program record during the 25-point rally scoring era with 33 kills as Lewis rallied to beat Mount Olive 21-25, 25-19, 30-28, 25-27, 20-18 on Friday in Romeoville, Illinois.

Roquet in the decisive fifth game led all players with eight kills, including two kills in overtime when Mount Olive was at match-point. The senior following his final kill added a solo block on the next play that set up the Flyers’ match-winning point.

Roquet also had a game-high 10 kills in the third game and helped spearhead the Flyers’ comeback.
