The reigning Division II National Player of Year is moving teams within the MIVA.

Ball State announced via its social media recently that opposite Raje Alleyne has transferred from Quincy and will join the Cardinals for the upcoming season.

Alleyne last season led all Division II players and was fourth in the nation with a 4.41 kills per game average on a career-best .311 attack percentage. The opposite had double-digit kills in all but three matches during the regular season, including setting a single-match school record during the rally scoring error with 33 kills against Maryville.

Alleyne as a junior became one of the first Quincy players in program history to earn back-to-back First All-MIVA honors. A nationwide voting committee of coaches and media members also selected Alleyne as the 2024 Division II National Player of the Year.

Ball State finished the 2024 winning its third consecutive MIVA regular season championship and defeated Quincy in the MIVA Tournament quarterfinals.

The Cardinals are slated to return a majority of their starting lineup for the upcoming season, including First-Team All-American pin-hitters Tinaishe Ndavazocheva and Patrick Rogers.
