Three consecutive MIVA regular season titles has resulted in four more years for coach Donan Cruz.
Ball State announced via its social media platform that it has extended Cruz’s contract through the 2028 season.
Cruz took over the Ball State program in 2022 and in his first season led the Cardinals to their first conference championship in 20 years and the NCAA Tournament semifinals. Ball State also has won the conference regular season each of the last two years but has been upset in the conference tournament.
Ball State under Cruz is a combined 64-23 and has finished two of the three seasons in the top 10 of the national rankings.
A majority of the Cardinals starting lineup is slated to return for the upcoming season. Among those returning starters includes Freshman All-American setter Lucas Machado and All-American outside attacker Tinaishe Ndavazocheva.
