Quincy didn’t have to look too far to find its next head coach.
The Division II university announced Wednesday that Devin Walker was promoted to be the new men’s volleyball head coach.
Walker spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach under Caren Kemner. In addition, Walker previously served as the head coach at Culver Stockton and in 2022 helped guide the Wildcats to its best record in three years.
Quincy finished last season in last place in the MIVA and failed to qualify for the eight-team MIVA Tournament. The team, though, was ranked throughout the season in the Division II National Coaches Poll.
Walker also helped coach the first All-American honoree in program history. Opposite Raje Alleyne was named an All-American Honorable Mention on Monday after finishing the season fourth in the nation with a 4.41 kills per game average.
