Fabikovic was in the top 15 of the MIVA with a 2.87 kills per game average and in the nation’s top 25 with a .330 attack percentage. The freshman from the Czech Republic also had double-digit kills in 13 matches to help the Ramblers finish in second place in the MIVA.

Among Fabikovic’s top performances this season featured a match-high 18 kills on a .519 attack percentage in a sweep against Purdue Fort Wayne. In addition, Fabikovic had a season-high 19 kills and hit .432 in a non-conference match against BYU.

This is the second time a Loyola player has been named National Newcomer of the Year. Former middle attacker Jeff Jendryk won the award in 2015 en route to helping the Ramblers win their second consecutive NCAA championship.
