Hawai’i has reloaded at the pins.
The Rainbow Warriors recently announced that pin-hitters Aleska Mandic and Oguzhan Oguz will join the team for the 2024 season.
Mandic playing club volleyball in Serbia was twice named the nation’s Best Young Player. In addition, Mandic helped lead their team three Serbia Cup championships and a Serbia Supercup championship.
Oguz, a 6-foot-8 opposite from Turkey, finished with a 4.20 kills per game average and had 21 matches with double-digit kills as a freshman with Jamestown last season. The transfer also was named a NAIA All-American honorable mention and led Jamestown to a conference championship.
Hawai’i last season came within one match of completing a NCAA championship three-peat but lost in the NCAA Tournament finals. The Rainbow Warriors, though, in the upcoming season will have to replace multiple All-American starters, including opposite Dimitrios Mouchlias.
