As expected, Lewis has lost their strangle-hold on first place in the Division II coaches poll after the Flyers were swept in both of their matches last weekend. What was not expected is that we now have a tie atop the poll released on Wednesday morning.

Concordia-Irvine is tied with Lewis atop the poll with 89 points each, but the Eagles have two more first place votes.

No. 10 Queens is back in the poll after defeating both No. 9 Belmont Abbey and Limestone this past weekend.

McKendree and Lincoln Memorial also received one first-place vote each.

Off the Block’s Division II match of the week is on Friday night when Limestone travels to North Greenville, who is atop of heap in the ConfCarolinas standings. Limestone has won 9 of the 14 matches all time in this brief series.

Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 25 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Wednesday during the regular season.
