Picking up where they ended the last season, Lewis is the unanimous No. 1 team in the first 2022 Division II coaches poll. The Flyers picked up all six first place votes in the poll released on Wednesday morning.

The Flyers started off their 2022 campaign with a dominant sweep over first-year program, Maryville on Tuesday evening in Romeoville. Lewis set a program-record with 15 aces, while also outhitting the Saints, .516 to -.018.

The MIVA and ConfCarolinas both had four teams ranked in the poll.

Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 25 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Wednesday during the regular season.
