UCLA continued to span the globe and add local high school prospects with its latest recruiting class.

The Bruins recently announced Ido David, Cooper Robinson, Sean McQuiggan and Matthew Edwards have all committed to join the team starting in the 2022 season.

David, a 6-foot-7 pin hitter from Kiryat Ata, Israel, is a member of the Israeli Men’s National Team and was named the most valuable player of the Israeli Super League in 2019. He most recently played in all three of Israeli’s matches at the European Silver League earlier this summer, including having a match-high 19 kills against North Macedonia.

Robinson, a 6-foot-7 pin hitter from Southern California, led his club team to a gold medal at the 2019 USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championships. In addition, Robinson helped his high school reach the state semifinals three times.

McQuiggan, a 6-foot-9 middle attacker, won a California Southern Section championship with his high school team in June. The high school team with McQuiggan also reached the regional semifinals in 2019.

Edwards, a 6-foot-8 middle attacker from Irvine, California, had a late start to his volleyball career but still helped his club team have multiple podium finishes at tournaments. The middle attacker as a senior also was named the captain of his high school team.

UCLA returns multiple starters after ending last season in second place in the MPSF and narrowly missing the final at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
