Fairleigh Dickinson has spanned the globe to fill out its inaugural roster.

Coach Karl France recently announced six players have committed to join the new program for the 2022 season, including three international players who have been a part of their national teams.

Artem Vetrov, an outside attacker from Moscow, has represented Russia in multiple beach volleyball international tournaments. He currently plays for the Long Island Volleyball Club and led the team to a berth in the upcoming USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championships.

Jose Angarita, a setter from Bucaramanga, Colombia, is a member of the Colombian Boys’ Youth National Team that is slated to compete at the FIVB U19 World Championships. Angarita arrives to Fairleigh Dickson having earned multiple best setter honors at regional tournaments in Colombia.

Santiago La Jara, a middle attacker from Lima, Peru, is a member of the Pero Men’s Junior National Team. Among his top performances in international matches included having a match-high four blocks in a near upset of United States at the 2019 U21 Pan American Cup.

Along with these international players, Fairleigh Dickinson signed three U.S. players.

Jack Lydon, an outside attacker from Leesurg, Virginia, guided his club team to qualify to the 2021 Boys’ Junior National Championships. In addition, Lydon has participated in the USA Volleyball High Performance program.

Diego Diaz, a libero from Plano, Texas, helped his club team advance to the upcoming Boys’ Junior National Championships — the second time in the last three years his club team has earned a berth to the tournament. Diaz also helped his high school team reach the state finals.

Luke Lowry, an outside attacker from La Conner, Washington, earned All-Pacific Northwest honors and led his club team to a second-place finish at the 2019 Far Western Bid Tournament. He also has been selected to participate in the USA Volleyball High Performance program.

Fairleigh Dickinson announced in January that it would start a men’s volleyball program in 2022 and weeks later hired France to be the program’s inaugural head coach. The Knights will compete as an independent during the upcoming season.
