What to know: The top offense in the nation will leave its home gym for the first time this season and travel Northern California for a match-up between two top-10 nationally ranked team. No. 3/3 UC Santa Barbara enters its road non-conference match against No. 8/8 Stanford with a nation-best .414 attack percentage. Setter Casey McGarry has guided the offense to hit more than .350 in every match this season, including a season-best .514 attack percentage in a sweep against No. 11 Purdue Fort Wayne last week. McGarry also is fourth in the nation with a 10.93 assists per game average and defensively had a season-high 14 digs as UC Santa Barbara swept Ball State on Saturday. The Gauchos have yet to lose a set so far this season. Stanford Preseason All-American opposite Jaylen Jasper is in the nation’s top 15 averaging 3.74 kills per game. Jasper had both a match-high 15 kills and 12 digs in a road loss to No. 5/5 UC Irvine last week to extend his streak to four consecutive matches with double-digit kills. This will be the first meeting between the Gauchos and Cardinals since 2018.
