Video: McKendree stuns BYU for program’s biggest upset victory

One of the toughest road venues in college men’s volleyball is now the site of the biggest upset in McKendree’s program history.

McKendree rallied from an opening-game loss and a six-point deficit late in the second game to upset No. 8/7 BYU 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 on Friday at the Smith Fieldhouse.

This is highest ranked opponent the Bearcats have defeated since their program started in 2014.

Despite being held to less than .200 attack percentage in each of the first three games, McKendree hit .414 in the fourth game to secure the win. Three Bearcats also finished with double-digit kills, including outside attacker Brendon Dunn who had a team-high 13 kills.

BYU opted not to play most of its traditional starters in this non-conference match. Freshman outside attacker Alex Ah Sue making his first career start had a match-high 23 kills against the Bearcats.
