There is a new No. 1 in the national rankings for the first time this season.

Hawai’i received all but one first-place to jump from No. 2 to No. 1 in latest Off the Block National Media Poll that was released Tuesday.

The Rainbow Warriors swept all three of its matches at the BYU Invitational last week to remain undefeated and extend its set winning-streak 60 sets. Hawai’i in the poll moved ahead of Long Beach State, which received the only other first-place vote and lost to USC on Saturday to end its undefeated season.

The National Media Poll is the only rankings in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball solely determined by media members. The 10 teams receiving the most votes are ranked in the National Media Poll, while other schools earning votes but finishing outside of the top 10 are considered teams receiving votes.

A new national media poll is released every Tuesday during the regular season on Off the Block’s website.
