Audio: Ball State coach Walton discusses sweeping McKendree in MIVA quarterfinals

All-MIVA middle attacker Matt Walsh had a team-high 10 kills on a .533 attack percentage as the No. 3 seed Ball State swept the No. 6 seed McKendree 26-24, 25-20, 25-23 in the MIVA Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday in Muncie, Indiana.

Walsh also led all players with five blocks to help the Cardinals advance to the conference tournament semifinals for the second consecutive year.

Ball State out-hit McKendree .330 to .233 and had three players with double-digit kills. Outside attackers Matt Szews and Mitch Weiler each had 10 kills, while Szews contributed a match-high four aces against the Bearcats.

With this victory, Ball State will play the No. 2 seed Loyola in the MIVA Tournament semifinals on Wednesday in Chicago.
