AVCA announces 2017 High School Senior All-American Team

Twenty incoming college men’s volleyball recruits ended their high school careers with a national award.

The AVCA on Wednesday unveiled the boys’ volleyball High School Senior All-American Team.

Pepperdine, Stanford and UC Irvine led all colleges with each having three All-American recruits. Both BYU and UCLA also had multiple recruits earn All-American honors.

Along with these teams, Hawai’i, Lewis, Long Beach State, Loyola, Ohio State, Penn State and USC all had one incoming freshman make the All-American Team.

A nationwide voting committee of high school coaches selected the annual All-American Team. In addition, 90 players were nominated for consideration by the committee — the most in the 11-year history of the national award.
