What to know: Two of the nation’s three remaining undefeated teams will face each other with first place in the Conference Carolinas on the line as Belmont Abbey plays host to Pfeiffer. Belmont Abbey finished the season’s opening month undefeated for the first time its program history, including winning the first four matches of its current five-match homestand. Outside attacker Nolan Albrecht also leads the Conference Carolinas with a 5.00 kills per game average while hitting .424. Albrecht was named the National Player of the Week on Tuesday after having a combined 34 kills in Belmont Abbey’s conference victories against Lees-McRae and King during the weekend. The defending-Conference Carolinas champions Pfeiffer is on a 23-match winning streak in conference play dating back to last season. In addition, outside attackers Jonathan Martinez and Sonny Hirini are both in the top 10 of the Conference Carolinas averaging more than 3.60 kills per game. The Falcons also had at least a .340 attack percentage in a three of their first four matches. Pfeiffer is undefeated all-time against Belmont Abbey since they starting playing each other in 2013.
