Lindenwood Classic for 2014 season to include emerging program Coker

Coker will be leaving the Southeast to play a non-conference match for the first time in its program history.

The Cobras last week unveiled their 2014 schedule and announced they will travel to play in the non-conference Lindenwood Classic for the upcoming season.

With the program beginning its second year of existence, Coker’s appearance in the Lindenwood Classic on Jan. 31-Feb. 1 will be its first road matches in the Midwest. The team’s non-conference matches against Lindenwood and Quincy during the two-day tournament will also be its first matches against the MIVA.

The Cobras will play three matches as part of the Lindenwood Classic. Along with its non-conference matches against Lindenwood and Quincy, Coker will play McKendree, a first-year program from Illinois, in the tournament finale.

The Lindenwood Classic highlights the four non-conference that Coker will play during the upcoming season.

The Cobras will play two non-conference home matches against EIVA opponents. Coker will play a home match against Sacred Heart on March 2 before playing its home finale against Rutgers-Newark on March 21.

Coker last season finished its inaugural season 6-15 and did not qualify for the six-team Conference Carolinas Tournament. In addition, Coker will have a new head coach for the upcoming season as former Baruch College coach Allison Stack was hired in April.
