Lewis goes undefeated in conference preseason tournament

Lewis opened its defense of its MIVA title in impressive fashion.

The Flyers won all three of their preseason matches against conference opponents at the Lewis Invite on Sunday.

Lewis only dropped one game at their home tournament — a nine-point second game loss to Ball State before winning the decisive third game to take the match. In addition, Lewis swept Quincy and MIVA-newcomer Lindenwood in the preseason event.

Lewis finished last season winning the MIVA Tournament and reached the four-team NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2004. The Flyers also return a majority of their starters from last season, including All-American outside attacker Jay Petty.
