BYUtv to nationally televise BYU vs. Stanford semifinal match

The MPSF Tournament semifinals match between the No. 2 seed Stanford and the No. 3 seed BYU will air live on national television.

The BYU athletics department announced Monday that the semifinals match in Los Angeles will be broadcast live on BYUtv and online at byutvsports.com starting at 8 p.m. (EST) Thursday.


BYUtv televised all 17 of the Cougars’ home matches this season. However, this will be the first time this season that BYUtv will televise a BYU men’s volleyball road match.

BYU reached the MPSF Tournament semifinals after defeating the No. 6 seed Long Beach State in five games, while Stanford defeated the No. 7 seed Pepperdine in four games in its quarterfinals match during the weekend.

The MPSF Tournament semifinals and championship match will be played at USC’s Galen Center. The Trojans, which won the MPSF regular season title the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, were highest remaining seed after the quarterfinals and get to the host the rest of the MPSF Tournament.

If BYU advances to the MPSF championship match on Saturday, BYUtv will stay in California and broadcast that match as well. The winner of BYU versus Stanford will play the winner of USC versus the No. 4 seed UC Irvine will play in the championship match.
