Two wins against its oldest rival helped Ball State continue to move up the national rankings.

The Cardinals jumped one spot to No. 6 in the latest Off the Block National Media Poll that was released Tuesday.

Ball State swept Ohio State in a home-and-home conference series last week to extend its winning streak to six matches. The Cardinals also are tied for first place in MIVA with six remaining regular season matches and are attempting to win their first conference championship in 20 years.

The National Media Poll is the only rankings in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball solely determined by media members. The 10 teams receiving the most votes are ranked in the National Media Poll, while other schools earning votes but finishing outside of the top 10 are considered teams receiving votes.

A new national media poll is released every Tuesday during the regular season on Off the Block’s website.
