    BYU after defeating then-No. 1 UC Irvine during the weekend received all but one first-place votes to move atop to the new national media poll released Tuesday night.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    The spotlight will be on the West Coast as two men’s volleyball matches will be nationally televised tonight.

    No. 1 UC Irvine looks to snap its two-match losing streak as it travels to No. 3 BYU in match that will air on BYUtv. In addition, No. 2 Stanford and No. 7 USC will make history tonight — becoming the first two men’s volleyball teams to play on the Pac-12 Network.

  • My men’s volleyball media poll ballot

    UC Irvine and Stanford received the same amount of first-place votes, but the Anteaters remain atop the new national media poll.

    UC Irvine received five first-place votes and 94 points to finish four points ahead of No. 2 Stanford in the latest college men’s volleyball media poll released Tuesday evening.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Final Four matches past and future could be on display tonight.

    No. 2 BYU versus Lewis highlights tonight’s schedule in what could be a preview to this year’s Final Four. However, not to be overlooked is a rematch of the last season’s NCAA championship match as UC Irvine plays host to USC.

  • Players to watch for the 2013 AVCA Player of Year award

    BYU outside attacker Taylor Sander and UC Irvine outside attacker Kevin Tillie are the preseason favorites to win the biggest individual award in college men’s volleyball, but the field is still wide open.

    With the NCAA men’s volleyball season beginning this week, there are several candidates who could be the 2013 AVCA Player of the Year this season.

    Check out the preseason favorites and the dark horse candidates who could win the Division I-II AVCA Player of the Year at the end of the regular season.

  • 2013 Off the Block Preseason All-American Teams released

    A nationwide voting committee selected 20 players to the Off the Block Preseason All-American Teams.

    The Off the Block Preseason All-American Teams recognizes the NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players projected to be the best in the nation during the upcoming season. Ten players were selected as Preseason First-Team All-Americans and 10 players were named Preseason Second-Team All-Americans.

  • UCLA finishes home preseason event undefeated

    UCLA’s preseason home tournament could not have gone much better for the Bruins and new head coach John Speraw.

    UCLA defeated Cal State Northridge and UC Santa Barbara on the final day of the SAC Tournament on Saturday to finish the preseason event undefeated.

  • Page leads UCLA past rival USC in preseason tournament

    Outside attacker Robart Page led the Bruins with 15 kills as UCLA overcame a one-game deficit to defeated its cross-town rival USC 19-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-17 on Friday at SAC Tournament.

    Page was one of three Bruins with at least nine kills in the opener of its UCLA’s preseason home tournament. Outside attackers Kene Izuchukwu and Gonzalo Quiroga each had nine kills in the victory.
