Voting underway for OTB/Springbak National Player of Month championship round

Six players based on your votes have an opportunity to win a college men’s volleyball national award for their outstanding performances in February.

Sacred Heart libero Josh Ayzenberg, Erskine libero Bryan Cardozo, Stanford outside attacker Jordan Ewert, Hawai’i setter Jennings Franciskovic, Alderson Broaddus middle attacker Myles Miller and Hawai’i opposite Stij van Tilburg all advanced to the championship round of the Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Video: Stanford rallies from historic OT loss to knock off UCSB

No. 8/9 Stanford overcame losing its program’s longest game in more than decade to earn a comeback conference victory.

Video: No. 9 Stanford dominant from serving line in win vs. McKendree

Outside attacker Gabriel Vega finished with both a match-high 15 kills and three aces as No. 9 Stanford swept McKendree 25-17, 25-21, 25-21 on Saturday at the UCSB Asics/South Coast Inn-vitational.

Along with Vega, Stanford had four players with multiple aces and finished the match with nine aces. In addition, both Vega and outside attacker Jordan Ewert had double-digit kills to help the Cardinal out-hit the Bearcats .427 to .328.
