Hawai’i coach Charlie Wade is getting his ideal tournament field for the upcoming Outrigger Invitational.
Wade said Monday in an interview with Off the Block that for the second consecutive year Penn State, Ohio State and UCLA will participate along with Hawai’i at its annual home tournament during the 2014 season.

Not all college men’s volleyball teams have the same influence when it comes to social media.
A recent study of NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball team Twitter accounts revealed that Penn State and BYU are leading all other teams in followers — and by a wide-margin.

For the first time in three years, Penn State and Long Beach State will play each other in non-conference play.
Nittany Lions coach Mark Pavlik said in a recent interview with Off the Block that Penn State will travel to play Long Beach State as part of the annual Active Ankle Tournament during the 2014 season.

The pairings for the inaugural NCAA men’s volleyball play-in match in 2014 is set.
NCAA committee member Ron Shayka confirmed to Off the Block via email Monday that the 2014 conference champions from the EIVA and Conference Carolinas will play each other for the final spot in the four-team NCAA Tournament.

After five days and almost 10,000 online votes, the four-player field is set for the Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Fan Choice Player of the Year Championship Round.
The Fan Choice Player of the Year is an annual 65-player bracket-style tournament recognizes the best individual performances from NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players during the season and gives volleyball fans from around the world the chance decide the winner through online voting.
