  • MIVA announces 2014 Player of Year, all-conference teams

    For the second straight year, a player from Loyola is earning the MIVA Player of the Year — it just wasn’t the person everyone projected at the start of the season.

    The MIVA announced on Wednesday that Loyola outside attacker Thomas Jaeschke was selected as the 2014 MIVA Player of the Year.

  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    The postseason is getting even closer and several matches tonight will go a long way to determine the conference tournament seeding.

    No. 10 Hawai’i will try to pull off the upset and move a step closer to reaching the postseason as it plays host No. 2 BYU. In addition, Penn State and Harvard will meet with first place in the EIVA on the line.

  • Loyola sweeps IPFW to lock-up No. 1 seed for MIVA Tournament

    No. 1 Loyola in convincing fashion clinched a share of the MIVA regular season title and the No. 1 seed for the upcoming conference tournament.

    Loyola finished with more than a .400 attack percentage as it swept IPFW 25-20, 25-13, 25-22 on Saturday in Fort Wayne, Ind., to earn the top seed in the MIVA Tournament for the first time in eight years.

  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Multiple conference titles can be clinched tonight.

    No. 2 BYU will go for its second consecutive MPSF regular season title as it plays host to conference rival No. 9 UCLA. In addition out in the Midwest, No. 1 Loyola will look to remain undefeated in the MIVA and win its first conference regular season title in about 10 years as it takes on IPFW.

  • Top college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s a huge midweek night in college men’s volleyball with several matches that could have a significant affect on the conference tournament seeding and the race for the NCAA Tournament at-large bids.

    No. 5 Stanford and No. 7 USC highlights the slate of matches as both teams continue to battle to earn a home postseason match in the MPSF Tournament. In addition out in the Midwest, Ball State will attempt to put an end to No. 1 Loyola’s perfect run in conference play.
