  • EIVA announces Player of the Year, all-conference teams

    For the first time in more than five years, a non-Penn State player has earned EIVA Player of the Year of the Year honors.

    George Mason outside attacker Mark Jones and Penn State outside attacker Aaron Russell were selected as the 2013 Uvaldo Acosta Memorial EIVA Co-Players of the Year, the league announced Friday afternoon.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    There aren’t as many Friday night matches as usual, but two conference championships can be decided tonight in college men’s volleyball.

    No. 1 BYU eyes getting its first MPSF regular season title in nine years if it can defeat No. 7 UC Santa Barbara. In addition, Penn State plays a non-conference match but can clinch its 15th consecutive EIVA regular season title depending on the outcome of the Princeton-Harvard match tonight.

  • Top 10 non-conference matches to hope get scheduled for 2014

    With the calendars turned to April, it not only means the conference tournaments ready to begin but college men’s volleyball coaches beginning to create their schedules for next season.

    There are multiple factors that go into a coach creating their schedule and at times several factors that are out of a coach’s control. However, there are just some non-conference matches that volleyball fans are craving to get scheduled.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    The Midwest is in the spotlight tonight for college men’s volleyball.

    No. 4 Ohio State and Lewis highlight tonight’s matches in a battle between two undefeated MIVA teams. In addition, out on the West Coast two top-10 nationally ranked teams meet as No. 5 Pepperdine takes on No. 6 Stanford.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s the mid-point of the regular season but there is a Final Four feel to some of the matches this weekend.

    No. 1 UC Irvine and No. 3 BYU will play each other in the marquee match of the week to help determine who will be atop the MPSF standings. In addition, No. 4 Ohio State begins a critical weekend of conference play if it wants to win its seventh consecutive MPSF regular season championship.

  • My men’s volleyball media poll ballot

    For the first time in the media poll’s recent history, Harvard is a nationally ranked team.

    Harvard received eight votes and jumped ahead of Hawai’i for the No. 10 spot in the latest top 10 national media poll released Tuesday.

  • My men’s volleyball media poll ballot

    The turnover in the national media polls continues following another weekend of upsets.

    UC Irvine became a unanimous No. 1 in the newest national media poll released Tuesday afternoon, while Ohio State made the biggest move in the poll jumping up two spots to No. 5.
