  • Harvard hires former Ball State player as new assistant coach

    A former Ball State men’s volleyball outside attacker will be coaching in the EIVA for the upcoming season.

    The Harvard athletics department announced Wednesday that it hired Jeff Aucoin has an assistant coach for the Crimson women’s and men’s volleyball teams for the 2013-14 school year.

  • Rus-sanity powers Penn State past Harvard to win 15th straight EIVA title

    The Russell brothers lived up to their all-conference status and have put Penn State back into the NCAA Tournament

    Outside attacker Peter Russell had a match-high 14 kills while his younger brother Aaron Russell added 10 kills as Penn State swept Harvard 25-16, 25-16, 25-16 in the EIVA Tournament championship on Saturday in University Park, Pa.

  • Conference tournament men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Three of the four spots to the NCAA Tournament will be decided by the end of the night.

    Conference Championship Saturday is here as the EIVA, MIVA and MPSF all conclude their conference tournaments with the championship matches tonight. The winners of these three matches will receive automatic bids to the men’s volleyball Final Four, while the final spot, the at-large bid, will be decided Sunday by the selection committee.

    Six teams are left with a chance to get an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament heading into Conference Championship Saturday.

  • Conference tournament men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Four more tickets will be punched to Conference Championship Saturday by the end of the night.

    The top-four nationally ranked teams will be on display in Provo, Utah, with both MPSF Tournament semifinal matches, including No. 2 UC Irvine playing No. 3 Long Beach State in match potentially critical to the NCAA Tournament at-large bid. In addition out in the East Coast, Penn State will look to continue its 15-year domination of the conference tournament as the EIVA Tournament begins tonight.

  • Q&A with Harvard men’s volleyball coach Brian Baise

    Coach Brian Baise not only has the challenge this week of trying to guide Harvard to its first conference title in program history, but trying to achieve the feat in the aftermath of his team experiencing first-hand the effects of the Boston Bombings last week.

    Harvard after finishing the regular season in third place and clinching a postseason berth will open the four-team EIVA Tournament against the No. 2 seed George Mason at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in University Park, Pa. The winner of that match will play the winner of the semifinal match between Penn State and Princeton in the conference championship on Saturday.
