  • US hits setback at World Championship, loses to Serbia

    A personal tournament-best performance from BYU opposite Ben Patch was not enough to prevent the United States from getting swept.

    Patch had a team-high 13 kills as the United States lost to Serbia 25-23, 25-22, 25-17 on Friday in Turkey for its first preliminary round loss at the FIVB U21 Men’s Junior World Championship.

  • Lewis to play UC Irvine, BYU, Stanford in opening weeks of 2014 season

    There will be a Final Four feel right from the start of Lewis’ upcoming season.

    Lewis announced earlier this week that it will open the season with five non-conference matches against the MPSF, including home matches against the two teams in last season’s NCAA finals: UC Irvine and BYU.

  • 4 college players make U.S. preliminary roster for Pan Am Cup

    Four current college men’s volleyball players, including two All-Americans, have a chance to represent the United States at an upcoming international tournament.

    USA Volleyball announced Wednesday that BYU outside attacker Taylor Sander, Pepperdine outside attacker Josh Taylor, UC Irvine libero Michael Brinkley and Long Beach State setter Connor Olbright were among the 18 players included on the U.S. preliminary roster for the Pan American Cup tournament.

  • Penn State, BYU among most followed men’s volleyball teams on Twitter

    Not all college men’s volleyball teams have the same influence when it comes to social media.

    A recent study of NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball team Twitter accounts revealed that Penn State and BYU are leading all other teams in followers — and by a wide-margin.

  • Volleyball Magazine reveals 2013 Player of the Year, All-American teams

    There is a split decision this year to the National Player of the Year.

    BYU outside attacker Taylor Sander was named the 2013 Volleyball Magazine Player of the Year — one month after the All-American junior lost the AVCA National Player of the Year honor to Long Beach State outside attacker Taylor Crabb. (more…)

  • BYU finishes 2013 season with nation’s top home attendance

    For the second consecutive year, BYU ends the season leading the nation in home attendance.

    The Cougars led all NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball teams with a 3,019 home match attendance average — beating all other schools by more than 300 people per match.
